My name is Braylee Jevnick and I am a Freshman at Xavier College Preparatory in Phoenix, AZ. I strive for academic excellence every day, taking the hardest classes available while maintaining a weighted GPA of 4.375. I have historically scored in the 99th percentile in every standardized test I have taken since the 2nd grade. I prioritize my education, family, and sport, as well as participate in extracurricular activities such as Student Ambassadors and altar serving for my church. I was President of the National Junior Honor Society at my middle school. I am currently a member of the Varsity Cheer team. I am one of few Freshmen to start for both our Show Cheer and Game Day routines. Before making the cheer team at Xavier, I was a competitive gymnast for many years, reaching level 8 before I retired. I won Regionals for my age group in back-to-back seasons for level 6 and level 7. Gymnastics was a huge part of my life that benefited me in many ways and allowed me to succeed in cheer. Aside from acquiring tumbling skills, being a competitive gymnast taught me the values of hard work, persistence, resilience, perseverance, and time management. I enter every practice and competition with a positive, ready-to-work mindset, and believe that the mental aspect of cheer is just as important as the physical. I love this sport and I am willing to put in 110 % effort to help my team. I am extremely goal oriented and once I set my mind to something, I will not give up until I reach my goal! This is a characteristic that makes me unique for someone my age. My coach told me that in 30 years of coaching she has never met someone with my work ethic. Above all, I enjoy the team aspect of cheer, and love having a strong community of teammates and coaches around me. I am a very coachable athlete and will work to be the best. I hope to reach my full potential as a high-school cheerleader, then continue my cheer career at a NCAA Division I college. I am confident that my athleticism, positive attitude, enthusiasm, competitiveness, work ethic, and grit will benefit any collegiate team, as well as help me grow as a cheerleader and person. Thank you.
