Hello, my name is Layla Lujan. I have been cheering since freshman year, however, I did not cheer my sophomore year since I was playing other sports. I have enjoyed every minute of cheering whether on the field or the court and wish to continue throughout college.
Some of my attributes are, I am a fast learner and I am a very hard worker. I have been able to pick up new stunts and cheers very quickly, and though I have no previous tumbling experience, I believe that I will not struggle at learning how to do them. I am very dedicated to what I do, no matter what else I have going on, I will always put my team first. Cheer has not been the only team sport I have participated in. I am currently on the mock trial team as a defense attorney and while I was at my old school, I was the vice president of my competition robotics team.
I have always loved to perform. I started dance when I was 2 and continued till sixth grade when I had to leave dance to focus on school. During those many years of dance, I danced for two different dance schools and twice in the Nutcracker with the Russian Ballet. When I saw the opportunity to try out for cheer, I took it. During tryouts is when I found my deep passion for cheer and knew that I wanted to do this for as long as I can. I am excited for what the future holds and can't wait to go on another adventure.
