Briana Castillo '25 Recruiting Profile

      The thought of ending my gymnastics journey would sound pretty bizarre to my 7 year old self. From countless hours of practice and competitions, needless to say, gymnastics was my happy place. I ended my level 8 season with 1st Place All Around at Regionals in 2022.  After my last year of competing, I decided to try out for cheerleading & STUNT. With the help of my coaches and teammates, I was able to quickly learn how to execute stunts and the basics of cheer.

      I am currently a senior at Los Altos High School in Hacienda Heights, California. I’ve been a main base and tumbler for the last 3 years on my High School Varsity Cheer & STUNT team. Cheer & STUNT has taught me so much in the little amount of time I’ve been part of it. Since Gymnastics is strictly based on individual performance, Cheer & STUNT taught me the importance of collaboration and communication. I used to be a very reserved person, but cheer has helped me find confidence. As well as the ups and downs of being a leader. I have been awarded captain for this year's 2024-2025 season. 

      Maintaining a high GPA has always been important to me. I am a part of AVID, Peer Mentoring , and ASB! I’ve been endowed with the Service and Leadership Award and have received Honor Roll my whole 4 years of high school. I am also employed at In-N-Out burger! With my busy schedule, I still make it a priority to focus on my studies. I’ve learned how to balance my academics and sports in order to be successful in both. 

      The root of my accomplishment comes from the support and encouragement my parents have given me for the past 17 years of my life. My parents never hesitate to do anything for me! My Mom has never missed a game or competition and my Dad is always putting in the extra work to support my cheerleading funds. They’ve shown me what perseverance and hard work looks like.

      With my strong passion for STUNT, I aspire to continue my journey at a collegiate level. I want to attend a college that challenges me both on and off the mat. I plan to study Radiologic Sciences. I am open to all options and hope to find a college that supports me in every aspect.
