Personal Statement

My name is Soledad Sibal and I am currently a Senior at Los Altos High School. I am a Libero on my high school team and we are currently 7 time back to back league champions. I have been playing competitively since 6th grade with ICON Volleyball Club and am currently playing on our 18s Adidas Team.

Although I am a Libero, I have only been playing the defensive position for a year. Previous to that, I was a setter throughout the rest of my volleyball career. I love playing because of the competitiveness and because it gives me the ability to lead. I have been captain of my club teams for the past three years. The leadership skills I have learned during volleyball have carried over into other parts of my life. I am a part of our LAHS's Associated Student Body (ASB). I have been in ASB since my freshmen year of high school and have built my leadership career up. I was Treasurer for my first two years, Secretary my Junior year, and now I proudly serve my school as ASB President. I have learned to manage my time wisely, balancing my time between academics and my extracurricular activities. Volleyball has taught me to be a hard worker in all aspects of my life. This is what sets me apart from other candidates for your school.

I aspire to play volleyball in college and hopefully one day coach. I hope to contribute to a team and be open to learning new things. I enjoy working with younger players and hope to inspire young people to follow their dreams and strive to do the best in whatever they do. I am confident in my knowledge of the game. I understand the game and am able to identify what is happening, move earlier, and more efficiently.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
