I am very grateful for this opportunity and would like to thank you for your consideration. My most immediate goal is to complete my senior year receiving my associates degree with high honors and to help lead my team to a win at UDA nationals. Closely tied to my immediate goal, is to take the next step in being selected as a student athlete at your university. I would love to represent the school as a dancer or cheerleader as I have enjoyed preforming my whole life. Academically, my goal is to complete my bachelors in business and then go to law school. My formal training began by having a mother who competed at a national level in gymnastics and then continued on to become a gymnastics coach. I have been receiving gymnastics and dance training since before I could walk. This translates to 14 years of gymnastics training, 8 of those competing at a regional and state level while concurrently training in dance since the age of 4. This includes ballet, jazz, hip hop, and pom. I am currently a member of Foothill High School's varsity dance team coached by Lana Carey and competing in hip hop, pom, and game day. We have placed in nationals every year including a national championship at DTU's nationals in hip hop this past year(2020-2021). As previously stated, I am looking to help lead our team win a national championship this year at UDA nationals. This past year I was assigned to be the dance team's "officer" for acro where I instruct my fellow team members on how to perform individual and team skills such as aerials, side sumis, backhand springs, brannys, stunts, lifts, and much more. My personal skill level would include my tumbling I perform at game days such as a round-off backhand spring connected to a full twisting back tuck. I would like to include as part of my training the SUU and ASU gymnastics camps, as well as my 3 years of UDA and ProAction dance camps I've attended. Some of my personal attributes that would make me a good candidate for your team include: the value I see in other people and the ability to focus on goals and results. First, everyone has their own personal strengths and qualities that help build the team. I am a relationship driven person that likes to help bring these differences together so we can move as a cohesive team unit. I have strong interpersonal skills and look forward to developing these new relationships with future team members. Second, my life has been based on the foundation of integrity, hard work, and personal discipline which aid me in the process of setting goals, achieving them, and then reevaluating what the next step will be.
