People will often dream but are not willing to work to make the dream reality. My dream, for a long time, has been to compete at the collegiate level in Cross Country or Triathlon and I am putting in the effort every day to make that dream come true.
Running has been a big part of my life since I started competing as a USATF member at the age of 4, qualifying for my first National competition at the age of 8. Now I train day in and day out, put time into my extracurricular activities such as playing my trumpet in the band and jazz band, and do my best to maintain a respectable standing as an honors and AP student.
Triathlon became part of my life only a few years ago but I have fallen in love with the sport and continue to train towards elite junior status in the seasons to come.
Dedication and determination (and sometimes a little coffee) is what keeps me going. The chance to compete in college is a true once in a lifetime experience and I plan on being one of the lucky people who get the chance to participate.
