As a child, I was extremely introverted, it was nearly impossible to get me to play sports or be involved in any extracurricular organizations. My mother put me in gymnastics and I quickly fell in love with the entire environment of being in a gym. I had always been asked to compete on multiple different all-star teams but was still too shy to do so. I soon fell in love with the gym and tumbling, this gave me confidence in something and I quickly grew out of my bubble. I started cheering in the 7th grade and ever since have been in awe with leading a crowd with team spirit.
My experience as a cheerleader has consisted of Competitive-Side Line, as well as 10 years of being in the gym working on my tumbling skills. I am a main base on my varsity high school team and take private all-girl and co-ed lessons as a flyer with Hardin Simmons University. I am interested in a big football environment-based school as well as one where I can improve my academic standing, I am looking to major in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, or Education. I am looking forward to pursuing my career in cheer in college and hope to find a team that feels like family or a home away from home. I am eager to leave my small town and see bigger places.
I have previously done track and basketball along with softball and cheer. I am in diverse organizations such as FFA, Yearbook, Student Council, and NHS, being from a small school it is important that everyone participates to provide our school with those organizations. These organizations call for early mornings in the ag barn or weight room, and community service hours over the summer and throughout the school year. I have been able to participate in these organizations along with keeping my GPA at a 3.75.
