My goal for college is to grow as a person as much as I can before entering the real world. I want to be involved in a campus in a way that will teach me valuable life lessons, push me to study harder, and to reinforce the purpose of strong time management. Growing up, I was a high level competitive gymnast. It was my whole life and I loved it dearly. Gymnastics instilled many attributes in me such as a strong work ethic, being coachable, time management, versatility, and many more. Although it’s been three years since I’ve done gymnastics, these qualities have been key assets in my cheerleading career and i’m looking to build upon them. I firmly believe that these qualities will allow me to add to your program. Unlike most recruits, I do not have experience in competitive cheer, but because of gymnastics, I have learned many lessons in perseverance and accountability which has translated to my cheerleading career and impacted the teams I have made since being on Grapevine Cheer. In my time with GHS Cheer, I have been on the UIL Gameday, NCA Gameday, NCA Performance teams, and am recognized as a NCA All-American Cheerleader. With these teams, I have become a 5A D1 State Champion, 2X National Champion in the Gameday Spirit Program, NCA Gameday Grand Champion in 2023, and a National Champion in the Small Varsity Intermediate Crowd Performance. My strong work ethic and tumbling skills have been noticed by my peers and coaches. I was voted Football and Practice Captain by my teammates for the 2023-2024 season. I was awarded the “Top Tumbler” award for 2022 and the “Simply the Best” award for the top overall junior in 2023. My work ethic doesn’t stop with cheerleading, it plays a very important role in my academic life too. Throughout my school years, I have taken 5 AP classes and two full years of Dual Credit. This has awarded me 33 hours of college credit and counting. I have been recognized by AP teachers on my resilience and hardworking actions in classes. I have been inducted into the Margaret Telford Chapter of National Honor Society, and have competed over 100 hours of community service under the Ambassadors Program. I’m hoping to cheer in college to continue to push myself as an athlete and student!
