Taiya Shafer '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Taiya and I am a flyer and tumbler in the Class of 2024. I have been a sideline football cheerleader and a competitive cheerleader on Baraboo High School's Varsity squad for three years and recently joined Sun Prairie Cheer Aces as my competition team for 2023-2024. 

I have fallen in love with the sport of cheer and the cheer community and my dream is to continue cheering throughout my college career as both a sideline cheerleader and competitive cheerleader. I want my college cheer team to feel like a family, to support and challenge each other, and to have fun working side by side each day.

A couple of things make me stand out as a candidate for your team.

• - Prior to becoming a cheerleader, I was a gymnast at Elite Gymnastics Academy for six years and competed as a Level 8 in my final year of gymnastics.
• - I have maintained a 3.9+ GPA (4.0 scale) for all six semesters of my high school career so far.
• - I am hardworking, dedicated to my team, and always wanting to learn more, try new things, and fly higher.
