Hello, my name is Ashley Appleby. I am a versatile student-athlete interested in playing field hockey in college while pursuing a degree in Physical Therapy, Sports Psychology, and a minor in nutrition. After gymnastics for seven years, I discovered field hockey in 8th grade and immediately fell in love with the sport. I have committed myself to working hard to make my high school varsity team while also competing at the SCC. Throughout the past year, I worked tremendously on my speed and plays to one of my strengths, speed, and endurance. I use quickness to eliminate my opponents, set up my teammates, or recover for my teammates. I am coachable, unselfish, work hard at every practice, and am open to playing any field position. As a junior, I enjoy working and helping among my teammates on skills development while also representing my team on and off the field. I do this within my community with a positive mindset, inclusiveness, and honor. Academics are a big priority, and I take pride in my achievement of attaining an unweighted 94 average this Fall 2020 semester, with my honor and ap classes, along with the end of my sophomore year with all high honor and a 4.0 GPA. I am also a part of my school's National Honor Society and a member of Peer Tutoring within my school. During the offseason, I play club indoor/outdoor field hockey. Additionally, during the offseason, I build on my strength through my hard and dedicated work with my trainer, gym, and one on one lessons with field hockey club coaches.
