People ask me why I love playing field hockey as a goal keeper. First, I do love it and look forward to playing two more years as the starting goal keeper on my varsity high school team. I am happy to be one of the captains for my high school team, to help younger players to learn and love field hockey as much as I do! I also enjoy being able to participate in teaching younger girls at the clinics my coach holds to promote field hockey. As much as I love the game and work hard to improve, I do have other interests and responsibilities.
I love singing in my school's treble choir and playing on my high school lacrosse team. I also enjoy acting in productions at a local community theatre. I have been involved there for several years. Last summer and this summer I have been working at a local ice cream parlor to earn money. I also spend days off in the summer volunteering for my town's recreation department, teaching tennis to younger children. I have been doing this for four years.
I work hard and try to expand my goalie skills in season and off. I play in a Cape Cod summer field hockey league, with my Lead the Way club team in the winter and spring, and through being selected to be in the USA Futures program. I am striving and working hard to get to the next level - to play in college!
