Macy DeMaio '26 Recruiting Profile

My name is Macy DeMaio. I am a Junior at Frontier Regional High School located in South Deerfield, Massachusetts and field hockey is my passion. I have been playing field hockey, basketball and softball since fourth grade.  I have been on the Varsity field hockey team since eighth grade and a starter since ninth grade. I also play for Western Mass Hockey Club during the off season.  I have been selected as first team, all league for the last two years and was the leading scorer this season leading my team to the state semi-finals, for the second year in a row.

I have not only honed my athletic skills but also embraced the discipline, communication and the resilience that sports demand. For me, field hockey is more than just a game—it’s a way to challenge myself, build lasting relationships, and contribute to a community of like-minded individuals. My love for the sport has fueled me to try to continue competing at the collegiate level, where I can push my limits, grow as an athlete, and make a meaningful impact on my team.

My ambitions go beyond the field. I am passionate about education, I plan to pursue a degree in teaching, hoping to inspire future generations and possibly be inspire other athletes as a field hockey coach one day. I believe the lessons learned through sports—teamwork, perseverance, and goal-setting—can be applied in the classroom as well. For me, college is the perfect place to continue my athletic journey while preparing to make a difference in the lives of children, both in the classroom and out on the field.
