Julia Brynn Okenquist '26 Recruiting Profile

Hi, I am Julia Okenquist. I am a class of 2026 at Uxbridge High School in Massachusetts. I started playing field hockey in the first grade, and fully committed to being a goalie in fifth grade. Ever since I was little, I thoroughly enjoyed everything about the sport, and now take pride in being such an important position on the field. I started competing in club which helped develop my love even more! In eighth grade, I made my Varsity High School team, and started most games. This gave me lots of experience, and I appreciated every minute I was able to play. Freshman year, I was able to make my varsity team again, where I played and started every single game, which I did again sophomore year. My team and I have now won three State Championships, and we will continue to work even harder. I am a very hard-working and committed athlete, and am willing to do whatever I can to improve. I enjoy being a friend to my teammates, but also love being a leader on the field. I strive to be very coach-able, and always take my coaches words of advice. I am very outgoing, and love to meet new people, and hangout with friends. I love travelling, seeing new places, and exploring the outdoors. Academically, I am very focused on my studies. I take all honors classes, and have maintained my high honors each semester. I am always putting in extra hours to get my work done, and I aim for success. My dream is to attend a school that will fulfill my academic desires, while also providing me with the ability to play field hockey. I would love to join a team that can help push me to work hard both physically and mentally.
