My name is Katie Kantrovitz and I’m a rising junior (2023) at John Burroughs School in St. Louis, Missouri. I play for the Gateway field hockey elite U16 team (#25) as well as my high school team that finished second at the State Championship this year.
Throughout my years of playing field hockey, I’ve developed a love for the sport, and I am always wanting to improve. I like to push myself both academically and on the field— whether it be extra stick skills in my backyard or staying after practice, or taking accelerated classes in school, I am a dedicated student athlete. Through balancing practices and tournaments with a rigorous academic schedule, I’ve developed strong time management skills, and I’m looking for a school where I can continue to be challenged both on and off the field.
Setting up my teammates with precise passes is what I enjoy most, and I have frequently been told that my positive attitude, vision, and communication make me a leader on the field. My communication from the back field allows me to guide and encourage my teammates in order to optimize our play, and I strive to be an assertive and decisive yet unselfish teammate.
