My name is Sarah Ding, and I am in the class of 2025. I play as the center midfielder for Gateway Field Hockey and John Burroughs in St. Louis, Missouri. Since I was little, I dreamed about playing field hockey in college and since then have done nothing but work towards that goal. Whether it be practicing on my own, working out, or watching film, I'm always trying to improve my game in the places where coaches have pointed out for me. I pride myself in my work ethic, and it has helped me become the player I am today. Not only do I stride for excellence on the field, I push myself in the classrooms as well. At an academically challenging school like Burroughs, I struggle to find free time, but I will always find a way to practice field hockey. Being a student athlete has instilled in me time-management, grit, and a growth-mindset. I focus on the present and push to be a better teammate, athlete, and student everyday.
