Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, leadership, sacrifice and most of all love for what you are doing.” – Pele
I love this quote because I feel it is a great example of how I try to lead my daily life both academically and on the sports field. I never stop pushing myself. I am fiercely competitive, set my goals high and will not give up until I reach them. My coaches describe me as being very coachable and constantly striving to be the hardest working player on the field.
You will always find me at home with a stick in my hand whether it be out in the yard, in the basement or studying in my room. I believe this has enhanced my strong stick handling skills and allowed me to be a play maker on the field. My determination and passion to always improve helps me to rise to any challenge and be a team leader.
I describe my character as smart, caring, and having a great sense of humor. My coaches and teammates tell me they love that I know just the right moment to make everyone laugh or smile. They know that I am a team player who is passionate about playing field hockey and will always give 100 percent effort both on and off the field.
I am looking to attend a university that provides both an outstanding education and an opportunity to play field hockey at a highly competitive collegiate level.
