Kensley Harris '25 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Kensley Harris and thank you for viewing my profile. I began playing field hockey when I was twelve, and after proving to my coaches that I was reliable in goal, I stayed in goal and fell in love with the position. I have played very little in the field since then, and even though some days I wish I could play elsewhere, goalie has given me opportunities that I may never have had otherwise. After my first year in goal, my coach recommended me to play Futures, but when that season was cancelled due to Covid, I completed the online program and am taking part in the in person Nexus Futures program again this year. I believe in my abilities to compete at the college level and thrive on competition.  I am a multi-sport athlete in HS (All-State Field Hockey goalie, Basketball, Softball, and possibly Lacrosse) which hopefully shows to prospective coaches that I am determined to be a well rounded athlete and do not mind challenges in my life.  Similarly, I have dreamed of a challenging profession in nursing since I was younger. A nursing career became my goal in life after visiting my mom at work and seeing all of the ways she was able to help others on a daily basis. My father was in the Navy after playing baseball in college which also led to me to forming a more specific goal as a nurse in the military after I graduate from college. Doing this, I believe that I can not only serve my community, but my country as well.  This is who I am, and I hope this represents the type of athlete you are searching for.
