I started playing field hockey in my 6th grade year. I instantly loved it. I played constantly on the middle school team and started to reach out towards outside teams. In 7th and 8th grade I trained with South Jersey Edge to eventually become a member of the travel team. In 8th grade I also played on the Gloucester Township recreational team. Which last year, my 9th grade year, was my first year on South Jersey Edge's indoor travel team. Starting my freshman year I was playing at the varsity level, and now as a sophomore I am a varsity starter. I would love to further continue my field hockey career once I move onto college. I've always dreamed of being a college athlete and wanting to be apart of a great team. I think it would be such a fun and great learning experience.
I could be a major help to many teams. I am able to play any position needed, but I mainly play in the defense position. I would definitely describe myself as a coachable player. The constructive criticism is just a way for me to improve as a player, so I always focus on what my coaches tell me to improve on. And with that I am a player that doesn't argue with why I messed up and I know when I make mistakes. But with those mistakes I fix them. On and off the field I lift my team members up. I try to keep the team positive as a whole. Talking up my team members really helps me to be a team player and lift everyone's spirit to make playing an enjoyable experience. Currently I am in all honors classes at my high school. I am one year ahead in math and science in my school's curriculum. I always strive to get the best grades I can possibly get, and I always am on top of them constantly. Next year I am on track for AP classes, and taking the AP exams.
Getting coaching from a college coach would be great overall, but there are specifics I want to pull from a coach. I obviously want to be able to grow as a player on the field. I would like my coach to give constructive criticism that allows me to make mistakes but improve from that. I would also like to have a strong relationship with my coach, and my team. Becoming a better person on and off the field is my main goal. Which I could all pull from a great college coach and playing for a great team.
