Personal Statement

My name is Nerina Tramp and my passion in life is softball.  My dream and goal is to play for a top-level softball team while getting the best education possible.  I am a coachable player, natural leader, and I will do anything that it takes to help the team succeed.   I once pitched three games in a row to win a tournament due to injuries.  I’m also the loudest person on the bench and on the field for my team.   I practice on my own time and over the years I have grown to know the game inside and out.   As a pitcher, it helps to know the game, the type of batters you will be facing and where to make the play.   As a freshman, I started varsity as a pitcher and first baseman for the Highland Tartans.  I received an athlete of the month nomination and I moved up from seventh to fourth in the line-up.  I had a total of 4 home runs and multiple RBIs to end my freshman session.   In my sophomore year, I pitched over 100 innings, 142 k's, ERA of 0.229 and made First Team All-Conference.  I pitched a winning game against the number one ranked team in the area.  This was the first win against this team in 15 years for the Highland Tartans softball team.   In addition to playing softball to the best of my ability, I also give back to my community.   I help in my church and volunteer on our townships’ annual MLK day.  Volunteering has influenced my decision to choose a career that helps people in some way.  Academically I made principle’s list and honor roll to finish my freshman and sophomore year.   I was also in mostly honors classes this year.   I am active in the musical department such as choir and being in the high school musical.   I hope to be able to study abroad and achieve good grades while playing college-level softball.   My dream is to be a top-level pitcher and I’m planning to make that dream a reality.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
