During the beginning of my sophomore year, I had made the starting position for my school's varsity team. Considering that the year before I was only ever on JV and then working so hard , having a motivational drive during the off-season, and having it pay off was most definitely the highlight of my high school career. However, I feel like I grew the most as a student-athlete later in my sophomore year during our county game when the tiebreaker resolved to my first shootouts. Even though we lost, I had the motivation to make sure I learned from my mistakes so that when the next important game, our conference, was resolved to shootouts, I was visibly better and we had won, moving onto the next round. This experience helped me grow not only as a student-athlete, but as a person and helped me focus my efforts on being determined to become a goalkeeper capable of playing at the collegiate level.
I am lucky enough to be part of a club team, giving me multiple opportunities to learn new technique and skills with different coaches and being exposed to different tournaments throughout this past year. Traveling to different tournaments in nearby states, I learned the worth of how teamwork, communication, sacrifice, and commitment are all factors of becoming worthy to play at the collegiate level. I am searching for a program that's the right match for me both athletically and academically. I truly believe that I possess not only the talent required to play at college level, but also the work ethic, distinctiveness, and accountability to make an immediate impact on your program. As a multiple sport athlete, I know that I have what it takes to be a significant member of your team and to learn and grow significantly.
