I have been playing basketball as long as I can remember; all through elementary and middle school. I started off playing recreational basketball, then moved on to travel and AAU. My freshman, sophomore, and junior year of high school, I played varsity and was starting point guard.
I am a high performing athlete/point guard and leader on the court. I started all games played in the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 school seasons. I was voted the team's MVP and selected to the NJAC (New Jersey Athletic Conference) First Team All Conference in both Freshman and Sophomore years. I averaged 11.5 PPG, 6.8 assists per game, 4.5 rebounds per game, and 3.2 steals per game in my sophomore year. My total career points so far is 577 points (233 freshman year and 344 sophomore year. This shows a strong game on offense and defense and I look to continue to improve and increase my stats each year. I am currently ranked number #35 in PrepHoops NJ. Below is a summary of my personal and high school team achievements.
2018-2019 Season • Starting Point Guard • NJAC First Team All-Conference • Morris County Boys Basketball Coaches Association First Team All-County • Second Team All-Group 3 • Team MVP
Team Achievements
• 2019 Morris County Tournament Champions• 2019 NJAC National Division Champions (12-0) • North 2 Group 3 State Sectional Finalists • 26-4 Record (most wins in school history)
2017-2018 Season • Starting Point Guard • NJAC First Team All-Conference • Team MVP
I am known as a leader on and off the court. My coaches have had me draw up plays based upon my high basketball IQ and experience. As point guard, I have excellent court visibility, I am unselfish and share the ball, as supported by my assists stat. I am a strong finisher at the basket, and am consistent at the free throw line. I was the second top scorer on my varsity team (as a freshman and sophomore).
I have a winning attitude and take my preparation and development for the game seriously by listening, watching, and learning from others who have been key in my success as a player; from my coaches, trainers, teammates, and watching game videos.
I believe in achievement on and off the court. Academically, I have a 3.7 GPA and scored a 1130 on my SAT, but plan to retake SAT and take ACT in Spring 2020. My parents are strongly committed to my success as a student first, and supporting me as an athlete. Their motto is, “no athletics without academics.” I also feel it is important to give back to the community and have led projects raising funds to support our local food pantry, supported childhood cancer awareness fundraisers, and am a Student Ambassador for Teams for Kids Foundation which provides funding for children who can not afford to participate in sports as well as provide them with equipment to play. I am also a member of the “Future Business Leaders of America".
I look forward to finishing strong academically and athletically in my junior and senior years of high school, and becoming the next college student athlete.
