My goal is to find a college where I can pursue and excel in a career in the medical field while playing college field hockey. I thought my life was set when I became a competitive dancer and was accepted to GCIT to pursue my career in the dance industry. In 8th grade, I decided to try field hockey because all of my friends played. That day I realized I wanted to play field hockey for the rest of my high school and college life. I suddenly found myself becoming less interested in dance and more interested in playing field hockey. I joined the club team, South Jersey Edge, and started playing in the offseason for 5-star field hockey, taking private lessons, and trying to master the game. Then in my 9th-grade year, I exchanged my dreams of dance to play field hockey all year round. I worked hard playing on adult leagues, rec teams, and independent tournaments, and my biggest tournament took place at Kean University playing against the incoming freshman. I attended the USA field hockey summit and had the opportunity to play with National USA players. I became a USA level 1 certified coach and with my mother started the Franklin Township field hockey team to get girls introduced at a younger age. In my sophomore year everything paid off and I was blessed with the varsity right forward spot for my Delsea Regional high school team. I have been coaching for 3 years and am the student liaison for the franklin township board of field hockey for the last 3 years. In 10th grade, I decided to challenge myself academically and applied to the Allied Health program through Rowan College of South Jersey. This was a big step in pursuing my medical career. I also am involved with DECA where I compete academically in a marketing-based competition. In 2022 I went to Nationals for DECA in Atlanta Georgia. DECA has given me a sense of independence and has enhanced my leadership skills which I use on and off the field. I look forward to a bright future and attending a college that fits with my academic goals and also allows me to pursue my passion for field hockey.
