My name is Lauren Conroy and I have been playing field hockey since I was in kindergarten. Ever since I was young I have loved playing field hockey. My Freshman year of high school I started playing for Spirit of the USA Field Hockey Club and I just knew I wanted to play in college. My ultimate goal is to play field hockey at the highest level possible.
I am a 3 year varsity starter on my high school field hockey team. I play defense for both Lenape High School and Spirit of the USA. I have taken on more of a leadership role this year as an upper classman by mentoring the underclassmen, contributing to practice plans and field play and by setting a good example as a team player.
I take pride in my academics and work hard to maintain a high GPA. My regular GPA is 3.96, my weighted GPA is 5.5. During both my freshman and sophomore years I have taken multiple honors courses and am currently taking AP History and AP English along with Honors Latin. I have either been on the Honor Roll or Principals List every semester. Extra curriculars and getting involved in my school community are very important to me as well. I am also a 2 year varsity starter for the girl's lacrosse team and participate in multiple community service clubs . I use the free time that I have to volunteer for school events such as homecoming preparations and safe trick or treat my high school organizes for small children to trick or treat in the school. I also volunteer coach a field hockey team in Mount Laurel for girls in grades 3-8. It's cool passing on the love for the game to the younger girls!! Over the last year I have been working out with a personal trainer to improve my strength, speed, explosiveness and agility.
I am a very hard worker both in the classroom and on the field. I am a coachable athlete that is looking to do her best for her team and her coaches. Every time I step on the field I make sure I am giving 100% whether it is for practice or a game. Along with these important traits, I am knowledgable of the game as well and have a high "field hockey IQ". My goal is to enter a college nursing program and continue to play the game that I love.
