Growing up in a Cameroonian family that immensely enjoyed volleyball and was extremely passionate about soccer, the sport of field hockey was simply one I only had heard of. It wasn’t until eighth grade that I put the stick in my hands and stepped on the field for the first time. Immediately, I realized I was missing out. Not only did I form great bonds with my teammates and have a coach that never stopped believing in me, but I had found an outlet that I never wanted to lose. The feeling that washes over me when I am playing field hockey is one that I cherish dearly, no matter what mood I am in, field hockey is where I give it my all.
Field hockey taught me how to focus my passion into something that will help me grow in areas of time management, sportsmanship, commitment, and overall assessment of my morals. My ideal program is one that will help me continue to grow in ways that are not limited. I hope to find a program that will never cease to have a learning opportunity, athletically, academically, and personally. I have confidence in my talents and believe I can be impactful based off of my work ethic, leadership skills, and passion for everything I do. These qualities make me a wonderful contender to play at the college level.
