Hello Coaches, my name is Anna Stock. I grew up playing ice hockey, and have been involved in sports for as long as I can remember. Shortly after my family moved across the country a few years ago, I became exposed to the game of field hockey. It didn't take me long to realize that it was going to be a sport I would fall in love with.
When I first started playing field hockey, everyone told me I was holding my stick wrong. But after playing ice hockey left-handed for so many years, I was not going to switch my hands and change everything I had ever learned, just to fit the traditional standards of playing field hockey. I can now proudly say that I am one of the only lefty players in the league, and I use my abilities to give my team a major advantage.
I plan on continuing my field hockey career in college, not only because I love the sport, but because it continues to test and push my limits. I love challenging myself with new goals, and expanding my potential. I want to be the best version of myself that I can possibly be, and field hockey helps me achieve that.
