In high school, field hockey has had a strong impact in the development of my character and my skills. Not only has it made me become more sociable and more like a leader, it has taught me how to stay resilient and mentally strong. At the collegiate level, I hope to not only receive an exceptional education but to also continue playing field hockey to continue the path that I have established.
Compared to other recruits, I stand out because I am very coachable. I first started playing my sophomore year with no prior experience with the sport. From my sophomore year to my senior year, I have grown tremendously in skill because I am able to quickly grasp what I am taught and am dedicated to perfecting the skills I learn to the best of my ability. I have received recognition at both the conference and county level which is something that I take pride in considering that I had no prior experience and that I do not get supplemental training from playing at the club level. With the right coaches, I believe that I will be able to pick up on any new skills and continue to improve my existing skills.
On the field, I have a very strong game IQ. My mind is always thinking about what is the best move to take, whether it be to come out of the goal and approach the opponent or to stay back and defend the cage. Especially because I get a lot of experience on my end, I have been able to develop my game IQ and learn through trial and error what works and what does not.
