I have a desire to become the best person that I can be, not only as a student athlete but also as an individual affecting the world around me. I began playing field hockey in the seventh grade with a club team and gained a desire to compete in the sport. I currently have a starting position on my high school varsity team as a freshman as well as playing year-round with my club team. Playing field hockey has offered me the opportunity to be a part of a sport that is the third most played sport in the world. I am a member of USA Field Hockey and earned a spot on the USA Futures team. I was able to compete as an individual at a USA Futures regional tournament and plan to continue to be a part of the Futures program so that I can learn and grow as a player and individual.
In regards to my academics, up to this point in my education I have been able to work to keep myself at the top of my class. Entering high school I have chosen courses that will be rigorous and challenge me to push myself beyond the average limits. I plan to continue this path throughout my high school career in order to prepare myself for college. It is my hope that by pushing myself with rigorous and demanding course work I will be able to continue to push myself beyond the limits in my college career.
I am a leader in academics, however I am also a leader in my school and outside of the classroom. I plan to continue looking for opportunities to lead in the classroom, school, sports as well as the world around me.
