Starter on nationally ranked #9 USA Field Hockey U19 team.
Academically, I am a driven and hard-working student. As with anything I do, failure is not an option. I strive to be the best that I can in whatever I do. I am taking several honors classes. I am also a true team player. First on, last off the field, and usually picking up and putting away equipment. I care deeply about the success of ALL teammates, both varsity and junior varsity. As a player, one of my key values is working hard and always bringing your all to every game or practice. Every day, I spare no effort to bring my strong personality to the team and my compassion for the sport to the field. Many of my teammates would describe me as a key-player on and off the field because of the way I bring people together to work towards our goals. I have strong family support and my dad is the "voice of OOHS Field Hockey" calling home games with excitement and enthusiasm.
I have been playing field hockey since 6th grade for both middle school/club and club. I started club play with Field Hockey Life under Coach Keli Puzo Smith and switched clubs to in 2018 to the Frontier Flames under Director/Coach Anna Karousis. My 2018/2019 season I was named Team Captain and played mostly defense and was an integral part of the corner squad. I am currently back with FHL and part of the U-16 Development/Select. With this team, I have traveled to many events including Disney Showcase, NITs, and Regional Club Championships. This upcoming winter, I will be trying out for the U-19 teams as I move up in age division.
High School Season Break Downs:
As a freshman at Olentangy Orange High School, I made the varsity team and was a starter for all games. I started the season at midfield and was part of the corner squad defending corners but was moved to forward for my speed and stick handling capabilities. This has opened up the opposing defense and led to many more scoring chances for the team. I ended the season with 4 goals.
Sophomore year I once again was a varsity starter and now a team leader. I have been playing mostly midfield but at times I am playing forward to increase scoring chances. I finished the season with just 1 goal, but overall it was a low scoring season for our team.
Junior year was an amazing season for my team and I. This season, I played center attacking midfield almost every time and would occasionally be put in as a side mid or forward. Even more this year than the last, I was a strong leader that helped my teammates on and off the field. I always brought the energy to practice and games no matter how good or bad the day was or who we were playing. On the field, I inserted for corners and did many positions on DPCs. I ended the season with 6 goals.
