Brooke Farren '21 Recruiting Profile

Ever since I chose to swim over playing soccer back in seventh grade, I have realized how this sport has positively shaped me into the person I am today. Though there have been many ups and downs in the past eight years of my swimming career,  I have learned to push through obstacles and to believe in myself to achieve my goals.  My love for racing has kept me in this sport, along with teammates and coaches who inspire me to do great things every day. 

One of my top priorities in swimming is being a supportive and fun teammate because I believe the team will perform better overall. I am currently on a large club team that competes nationally, so there is always someone I can count on to share my personal goals with and race in practice. I have been taught to be hardworking and persistent which is beneficial not only in the pool, but also the weight room and classroom.

I'm anxious to find a program that will help me reach my full potential in this sport and challenge me as an athlete to keep finding ways to improve. My future goal is to pursue a profession relating to health and medicine, so a great education is also important to me. I'm looking for the opportunity to continue my swimming career in an environment that will be challenging and rewarding,  which includes a balanced amount of swimming and academics.
