My name is Anna Ruhno. I live in West Chester, PA with my mom, dad, brother and dog. I attend Bishop Shanahan High School in Downingtown, PA, where I am a member of the class of 2025. I am a Goalie on my school Field Hockey team and also train with and play Goalie for W.C. Eagles Field Hockey Club. In addition, I also am working individually with Emily Snowden at The Goalie Trainer in Malvern, PA to learn new skills and get better. In the Spring, I am a member of the Track team, competing in both Long Jump and Sprints. Some hobbies that I enjoy are field hockey, lacrosse, travelling, walking my dog and reading.
I began my journey as a Field Hockey goalkeeper in August 2021 at the beginning of my Freshman year, when our team needed a goalkeeper for the JV team. I had never played goalkeeper before, but I took the leap and volunteered for the position and ended up finding a real passion. My initiative gave me the opportunity to start every game and lead my team to a successful season. Also, my initiative and attitude was recognized by a number of upperclassmen and by my coaches at our annual awards banquet. My goal is to continue to pursue my passion for goalkeeper and play at the next level in College. I am a great teammate, dedicated, hardworking and, as mentioned by a number of my coaches, a very fast learner.
