Hi, I’m Gabby Lorenzo! I am currently a Junior attending Gwynedd Mercy Academy. My field hockey journey started when I was in first grade in a local recreational league. It was from there that my passion grew for field hockey, while being surrounded by my best friends and my mom as my coach. I began playing in an indoor hockey club by the name of FSC in 7th grade and went on to play for them during my 8th grade year. I switched my indoor club team to the Main Line Field Hockey Club when I was a freshman and I currently still play for them. As I entered high school my love for field hockey continued to grow while I met my new coach and the incredible competition that would surround me. I am so thankful to be a part of the Gwynedd Mercy field hockey team. The Gwynedd program pushed me to be a better player than I could have ever imagined. Because of my amazing coach and all of the talent that has surrounded me daily, I have been pushed to strive to be the best player I can be. That same philosophy is what I plan on bringing with me to college. Field hockey to me is not just a sport that I enjoy playing, it has taught me many life lessons. Through my years I have learned amazing communication skills, with my teammates and my coaches both at practice and on the sideline. These interactions have taught me how to work with and trust my peers. Lastly, field hockey has taught me the all important work ethic, leadership skills, and balance when it comes to my social life, academics, and sports. I am looking for a college to challenge me both physically and academically because I believe that is the type of environment I thrive in. I hope to continue to improve and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me!
