My desire is to play field hockey at a college with a strong nursing program. Some of the reasons I would like to pursue a career in nursing is because I love to help people and enjoy the sciences. For example, I have an internship at a small, all Spanish speaking church, and volunteer at a local children’s museum. Coaches tell me I am a strong leader. It shows both on and off the field. I was named captain of my club team and off the field, my coach appointed me to organize a spring conditioning program. Coaches tell me that I am very coachable. I see the field, which allows me to distribute the ball well. I am a versatile player, because of my ability to make connected passes, my high school coach put me in as a starting center half back for varsity. In addition, I have strong anticipation skills which enables me to interrupt the passing lanes. This makes me an effective defender and consistent anchor to any team.
