Ever since I began playing field hockey in the fifth grade, even though it was a recreational league, I knew this was the sport that clicked with me. Over my life, I have played 8 different sports, yet at this first practice I knew field hockey is what I wanted to be my main sport. As I kept on my field hockey journey, I began to learn how to be a leader on and off the field. I tend to talk softly, but throughout my play I have found my voice. I am always supportive and directional.
Over the years, I have also had dedication. I play field hockey all year; I go to every practice and always work on my weaknesses on the hockey net I have in my backyard.
I also strive to push myself in school. Starting in kindergarten, I was in the gifted program. Ever since then, I have chosen to take a plethora of honors, advanced and AP courses. I would like to continue to challenge myself in the college class.
Recently my gifted teacher, passed away after his third relapse of stage four brain cancer. He had this saying, each day he would say to us, "win the day". If there was someone in my world that I would say inspired me the most, it would be him. He taught me to never back down and be strong. Then I created my goal, to play at a competitive collegiate level, while also reaching for a high academic standard. I would bring desire, hard work and grit to your school. As a women athlete, I will never back down and always work to become better because no one is perfect.
