My proudest accomplishment to date was earning a position on the varsity team for NJ South Champions Bishop Eustace Prep…as a freshman! I developed a solid bond with my teammates over the next two years and was looking forward to a starting position the following year. Then it was all over. “Ash, we have to move.” Moving my Junior year? I felt like all of my goals were shattered, and my accomplishments meant nothing. I would now have to start completely over in a new school six times larger than mine. Making the team would be impossible, and how was I ever going to fit in? I was at an all-time low. After several weeks, I realized that it was my responsibility to change it. I practiced harder than ever that summer in reparation for the tryouts. I now have a new proudest moment: I made the varsity team, and earned a starting position at Forward! I felt like I could accomplish anything, so I decided to take the most rigorous courses available my Junior year to prepare for a career in science. The experience has helped me to grow as a person. I’ve learned what it takes to face and overcome adversity both on and off the field.
I look forward to sharing my strong character, work ethic, and leadership with your team.
