I started playing field hockey when I was 9 years old. I have taken every opportunity to advance my game. I started playing indoor field hockey when I was 11. I enjoy both indoor and outdoor field hockey. When I play indoor, I can work on my footwork and stick speed. The outdoor game allows me to use my quick decision making skills to take the ball to the circle and shoot or pass to a teammate to score.
Field hockey has given me many opportunities. I have made friends from rival high school teams when we play together on club teams. I will be training with the Great Lakes region in the Futures program January to June 2017. I will be playing in the Pennsylvania Futures tournament in the spring of 2017. I played on a U19 club team at the National Field Hockey Festival when I was 13 years old. That experience taught me a lot about what high level high school field hockey would be like. I have started on my high school's varsity field hockey team since I was a freshman. We play in tournaments in Eastern Pennsylvania several times a year. All of this experience has been very valuable both as a player and as a teammate. I would love to continue to play field hockey in college.
As a student, I enjoy writing fiction. I write short stories as a leisure activity. I plan to pursue a career in education.
