Ava LaRoss '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Ava LaRoss and I am a Junior (YOG 2024) at Bellows Falls Union High School in Bellows Falls, Vermont. I started playing field hockey In Kindergarten through our local youth program. I realized field hockey was my favorite sport when I started traveling with my local high school team and they won there first state championship that I went to in 2015. We have won 4 more since then, I was a freshman for our last championship and I hope to win one more as a senior. I continue to enjoy playing and practicing, and still get excited to learn new things from my coaches and peers. I made the varisty field hockey team as a freshman and earned playing time in every game through the season and the playoffs. I started numerous games my sophomore year and became a full time starter at the beginning of the 2022 season. For the past 2 summers I have attended the New England Premier Showcase, as well are multiple local collegiate sponsored clinics. In the off season, I work to improve my ball handling and stick skills by playing in a indoor winter league which includes both high school and adult players. My primary position is forward however I am capable and have played where ever my coach needs me to play. I look forward to improving my skills by attending clinics, camps and tournaments.

Besides field hockey, I am a member of the Bellows Falls Union High School track and field team and have been participating in track since 5th grade, concentrating mostly in field events as well as sprints. In the spring I also play for our local AAU basketball team. I enjoy playing sports and challenging myself to be a 3 sport athlete. I am an excellent student and enjoy doing well academically. I have a 3.39 GPA and am on high honor roll. I am treasurer of my class and historian of my schools student council. My transcript is attached. Outside of sports and academics, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
