Mollie McGann '21 Recruiting Profile

I have been forced to embrace the new normal with COVID 19 and all the impacts it has caused. I have had to overcome and adjust to the inability to play field hockey this past summer with my team mates as well as the delay in our school season being pushed to the spring.  My senior year is online until further notice! With every trial I am constantly facing and every emotion that comes with the inability to thoroughly enjoy my last year in high school; I learn that I can and will accomplish anything thrown my way and create a new journey that I am deserving of and find joy in. Although, I am looking forward to getting back into school, senior day and playing field hockey for the last time on the field of Massaponax High School; I know that I have one less thing to worry about in my recruiting process. 

Every coach and player I have met on my journey through campus visits, camps, or played against on the field helped guide me on the path that was right for my future both academically and athletically. I have had amazing coaches that have assisted in achieving a win at the state championships (2018/2019)as well as break a school record for the furthest advancement in the schools field hockey program(2019/2020). My previous team mates pushed me to excel and be a leader. I can not place focus on just one person for the positive impact they have brought to my life and field hockey; so with that I thank everyone past, present and future!

I am excited to be offered a position on Newberry college field hockey team, and verbally commit. I look forward to my life with my future team mates as well as having a strong positive impact on the Wolves field hockey program.  I am very honored to be able to continue my love for field hockey at the collegiate level. Playing field hockey is my passion and has taught me to never give up. Whenever I play field hockey I am washed clean of my stress and problems I may have going on. I am able to just focus on my stick and ball and play my heart out. I am eager to advance my skills and play at a level that exceeds my own.
