I started playing field hockey during my freshman year of high school and ever since the first practice, I have been in love with the sport. When my coaches announced that they were in need of another goalie I happily accepted the challenge and when I stepped into my goalie pads for the first time I knew that was where I was meant to be. Being a field hockey goalie has allowed me to build on myself as a person, such as using leadership skills that I have developed through Girl Scouts from leading various events to commanding the circle. Playing field hockey has taught me that you get what you put into it, from athletics to academics, which has helped me to consistently get good grades throughout high school and even get into the Governor's School at Innovation Park.
