My name is James “Tyler” Martin and I am a class of 2019 graduate. I am currently 6 ft 235 lbs. I attend Oak Mountain High School and compete for the varsity football team. I began playing football when I was six years old. I began playing center in youth football and played this position until freshman year of high school when I was transitioned to offensive guard and now offensive tackle. It was my history of playing center which peaked my interest in long snapping. I began training with Chris Rubio and Jeff Abraham of Rubio Long Snapping in 2016.
My academic goals for high school are to maintain an above 4.0 GPA. Also, I strive to pass the AP Exams I will take both this year and next. In college I hope to earn a degree to pursue my dream of being accepted to medical school. After medical school I plan to become a surgeon specializing in the trauma aspect of the Emergency Room. Football has influenced my decision of becoming a trauma surgeon. Football has taught me I like the high-pressure situations and can do well under stress. Football has also taught me to set small goals for myself to strive for to eventually achieve the big picture goal.
