My relationship with God and my family are by far the most important things to me and they always will be.
The third most important thing to me is football. I have been obsessed with football ever since I was 5. It has been my dream to play football for as long as I can remember. I am absolutely addicted to the violent nature, the adrenaline, and the competitive aspect that football provides. Other students at my school have said, "Jacob Knight is the nicest guy in the world, but is the most competitive person that I know in sports. However, my favorite thing about football is the brotherhood that you form with your teammates.
I feel like I have the potential to provide the leadership that your team needs to win and to bond together. I believe that actions speaks louder than words and I always try to lead by example. I like to compare myself to Minkah Fitzpatrick. Minkah is possibly one of the hardest working players that I know and one of the greatest leaders that I know. The thing with Minkah is that he leads by example. He does not skip reps and every rep in everything that he does, he gives it every ounce he has. I also lead by example in other aspects of my life. I am very active in my church. I have been a leader in our youth ministry since eighth grade. I was chosen to represent my school at the Hugh O'Brien Youth Leadership Conference. I was also selected to represent my school by the Coastal Alabama Chamber of Commerce Leading Into Tomorrow Club. I was also the second runner up for the highly coveted Nate Harris Leadership award in tenth grade (after which they decided that only seniors should be selected). This award is voted on by the entire faculty and staff of our school. I am also a Peer Helper for our school. This is an organization which trains selected students to be peer leaders/mentors to other students in the school and community. On the football team, I was selected by my coaches to be on the leadership council. Therefore, I feel like I can be the leader that your team needs to be successful.
I also put forth my greatest efforts in academics. I have taken the most advanced courses available at my school since Middle school. My GPA is currently 4.07. While I have had the choice to take easier classes, I feel that pushing myself to take advantage of the academic opportunities given will better my future.
