I am a dedicated student athlete known for her exceptional skills and commitment to both academics and sport. I discovered her love of running at a young age and has since become a formidable force in the sport of track and field. She began her track and field journey with the USA Track and Field Junior Olympics where I qualified for and competed in the national championship meet in 2017 and again qualified in 2018 (both in high jump). I have been competing with the GSHS varsity track team since 8th grade. I compete in numerous events including pentathlon, heptathlon, high jump, long jump, triple jump, shot put, javelin, hurdles, sprint-distance and middle-distance races and relay teams. I have qualified in multiple events for the AHSAA state championship meet in both indoor and outdoor track every year since 8th grade. I have been All-Section every year since 9th grade (high jump, triple jump, long jump, hurdles) and All-State in 11th grade (triple jump and high jump). I was the Baldwin county triple jump champion in 9th grade. Last year, in 11th grade, I finished my indoor pentathlon season ranked as 11th in the state across all divisions. I hold numerous school records including pentathlon points earned, long jump, triple jump and 4 x 200 relay (in indoor) and triple jump, 4 x 100 relay and heptathlon points earned (in outdoor). Morgan was voted female athlete of the year in 8th, 9th and 11th grades. Other sports that I have participated in include cross country (7-8th grades, 12th grade) and cheerleading (GSMS 7-8th grades, GSHS 9th grade).
As a student, I consistently demonstrates a high level of commitment and hard work by maintaining a GPA 4.0+ while taking honors and/or AP courses. Her current GPA is 4.10. I was a member of NJHS in middle school and now NHS in high school. I have been very involved in the health science academy during her time at GSHS. During her 11th grade year, I participated in the HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) competition in the field of pharmacy science and qualified for state by being in the top 20 scorers state-wide. I also became a certified patient care technician which allows her to work in hospitals providing direct patient care. i have been successful with Dual Enrollment courses during 11th and 12th grades and will graduate with the majority of her college-level freshman core classes completed. She is currently working on a Capstone Project with a research focus on mental health in athletes. I was elected president of the GSHS HOSA chapter for this school year. She has recently been nominated for the Congress of Future Medical Leaders Award for Excellence.
With my strong academic foundation and athletic abilities, I am poised to excel in both the classroom and the sport of track and field. I have consistently displayed a level of determination, discipline and excellence in her journey to reach her goals. I am planning to continue my career as a track and field athlete at the collegiate level and aspires to become a physician (more specifically, an anesthesiologist).
