To which coach it may conchttps://www.hudl.com/video/3/6075717/5c0c1f773863500d7c4bbb5aern,
My name https://www.hudl.com/video/3/6075717/5c0c1f773863500d7c4bbb5ais Shamari Simmons. I am in the graduating class of 2019 at Clay Central High School of Clay County in Lineville, Alabama.
I am 6’0 and 175 pounds, and I play the positions of defensive back, wide receiver and kick returner. My time in the 40 is 4.6 seconds. I became a starter on offense and defense as a sophomore. Since then, I have made many great plays on both sides of the ball. I consider myself a playmaker and am consistently working to improve myself, my skills, and my team. I feel as though I would be an asset to your school and grow under the direction and guidance of your coaches and staff. As a starting sophomore, I had 82 solo tackles, 5 interceptions and over 100 assists. I was Defensive Player of the Year for WKGA radio of Alexander City, Alabama and Team Best Defensive Back for the Year. In the same year I played basketball and received Best Defender of the Team award as a point guard. In all areas, I work hard and push myself to be the best I can.
For your program, I can offer a great attitude, dedication and a hard work ethic both on and off the field as well as in the classroom. I am a people person and strive to make those around me better. I pride myself in being a great leader and encourage my teammates in every possible way. My motivation and biggest supporter is my father. He was a Parade All American that played defensive back at Auburn University. He has instilled in me the belief that hard work, dedication, and heart lead to success.
Performing at a highly competitive level is not only necessary but expected. I appreciate the commitment of my coaches and strive to perform above what is expected. In my opinion, results follow habits. Both on and off the field, I focus my efforts on striving for excellence. I expect that of myself and surround myself with those that encourage me in that pursuit.
Outside of sports, I pride myself in being an active member of my family, church, and community. One of the greatest lessons I have learned is that family and community is an amazing blessing. My family is my greatest support, and through them, I keep myself grounded and humble. I volunteer in a variety of areas throughout my community. Being involved with multiple youth programs and summer camps, I see the importance of being a role model and providing kids with a positive example. Within my church, I serve as an usher and perform with the praise dance team. This allows me to express my beliefs and serve a higher purpose than myself.
Wherever I attend school and play sports, I know that I will succeed and be an asset to the program. I have worked to create habits of success throughout my high school experience. I will carry these habits with me along with the support and guidance of my family, community, coaches, and teachers. My goal is to be successful and make all that invest in me proud.
I feel as though I can help to better the program that you have in a successful way on and off the field. I consider myself as a play maker on either side of the ball. I hope you see through the highlight tapes the plays that I am capable of making. I feel like we can help each other along the way and combined with the academics it can help me become a better person in society today.
Do you feel like I can help the program as much as the program can help me? I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Thanks,
Shamari K Simmons
