I am currently attending Perry High School for my senior year. My overall GPA is 4.56, which awards me the rank of 21 out of 507 students, that is the top 4% of my class. My academic class schedule has always included honors and AP classes, and I continue to be rated as the top scholar athlete in my class as well as in the entire school. My current class levels are also affording me the opportunity to receive early college credits. My long-term goal is to earn a BS in Pre-Medicine and have fully accepted the commitment to the task academically, and I can greatly appreciate the opportunity athletic participation can afford me in accomplishing that goal. For this reason, I am seeking the top colleges that can help me attain this goal. Currently being honored with participation in the National Honors Society, I have been fortunate to volunteer for many distinguished organizations within the community. My 2013 graduation will include both Distinguished Honors and Arizona Academic Scholar recognition. My senior year will without a doubt be the most successful of my High School career.
My upbringing and life experiences have taught me many things that cannot be coached on a practice field. I am not idle on or off the field; there is a kind of determination and tenacity not found in most people; certainly not most teenagers. On the field I am a leader and team captain; off the field, as a role model. Volunteerism and activism includes my church, volunteering for various youth organizations, coaching and tutoring kids in the classroom or on the field in various settings. I have an inner desire to succeed, and it is projected in everything that I do. No matter the obstacle placed before me, no matter what odds, I will rise up and overcome, because a person with both heart and talent will never be beaten.
As for my interest in football and track; I am a true competitor. I love the game of football and have played since I could stand up straight. My father, who played at the University of Washington, started teaching me the game in our family's living room throwing to me as I ran obstacles around the furniture. He got me involved in youth sports at an early age. It is a part of my life and that of my family as well. I have three younger brothers all who also play the game. I became involved in track and field my Freshman year. I learned that my over 6'1", 175 pound stature is ideal for hurdles. I excel and enjoy competing in the 110 and was a state finalist in 2012. I also run the 100 m and 200 m.
My desire to compete will lead me to a college that not only desires my leadership on the field, but my desire to lead in the classroom and in my community.
