Winning the starting job as the Long Snapper has been the highlight of my high school career. Despite making it to two consecutive Open division playoffs we faced adversity by playing a top 100 team in the nation, Basha High School. Although having a rocky start to the game, after half time we shut them out and they didn’t score the rest of the game. Those experiences helped me to realize that I need to keep moving forward and keep striving to be better. It’s often in moments of failure that we realize how hard work, determination and grit is essential to our success. Playing football has taught me so much more than winning and losing. It’s taught me that we must work together to make progress, grow and achieve any success. The camaraderie, leadership and commitment I’ve learned about will carry me through many future experiences in life.
As I approach my senior year of high school, my goal as a student is to at a minimum maintain my 3.7 GPA and to be in the top 20% of my graduating class. As an athlete I would like to win a state championship with my teammates I have played side by side with these last few years. After graduating high school, I plan to attend college and earn a degree in Kinesiology or Exercise Science. I have been an athlete my whole life so this has become a huge passion of mine, and I would like to share my passion for it with others. I feel that my leadership, my work ethic, my dedication, athletic ability, positive, optimistic attitude and passion would make me an asset and a perfect candidate for your program.
