I started playing football when I was seven years old. My dad played football, my older brothers played football, and I couldn’t wait to be like them! From the first time I stepped on the field I knew I would give it everything I had. I have played every game since then with that same passion and a goal of one day playing in college.
I recently transferred to a new school where my dad is a coach, and I am enjoying the new opportunities that have come with the transition.
As a senior in high school, I know what a tremendous opportunity it would be to continue playing at the next level and how much it could change my life.
In an effort to reach that goal, I am constantly finding ways to better myself as a player. From training to get faster and stronger, to making healthy choices with the things I eat and drink, my efforts don’t stop. I have been voted team captain by my teammates, am a driven team leader pushing my teammates to be their best selves, and always push to be the hardest worker on the field.
My desire to be better doesn’t just apply to football. I have worked hard in the classroom to keep my grades up and maintain my eligibility. I am an active member of our student government and serve as an aid to our weight training coach helping my fellow classmates learn the fundamentals and benefits of strength training.
My hope is that one day soon I’ll not only be able to attend a college that affords me the opportunity to continue playing football, but will also allow me to further my education and expand the opportunities that will come as a result of my time in college. Then one day, someone will look to me as their role model like I always have with my dad and brothers.
