Personal Statement

As an athlete I have had to make adjustments as I have progressed through levels and age. In football I am not the biggest or fastest on the field so I make up for it in technique, play reading and skill. Running strong routes, having good hands on offense, having strong hands, being explosive off the line, fast on defence and having strong instincts are only a few of the ways I make up for my size and speed. When I play football for a team I offer drive and commitment through my love and passion for football. As a teammate I try to help build my team up by being constructive, positive and willing to learn from them also. I like to know my teammates on and off the field so we can build a better dynamic for on the field. I try to expect more of myself than I ask of my team so that I never let them down. My dream is to play professional football and have a career in medicine. I would prefer to stay on the Pacific Coast/Western Corridor to be closer to home, but I will attend any school that will allow me to play football and help me achieve my academic goals. I would like to attend middle to large school, with a high level of competition so I can continue to improve as a player. I believe that to be the best you have to play with the best. Playing in post-secondary is necessary for me because I love the sport way too much to stop playing after high school. I have learnt that I cannot base all of my life around football and that I should have aspirations to other things, like medicine. I try and keep my life balanced by focusing in school, working part-time, attending church, attending youth group and spending time with my family and friends. I think in the end these things are all as important as football ever will be. While I have saved to attend post-secondary, I recognise that I will be an International student if accepted to an American college or university. Knowing that, I think that the help of scholarships or grants will be a necessity. My goals in life are two-fold: to pursue medicine as a doctor or surgeon and to become a leader and a force on whatever team I play for. I want to know that I have earned respect in life and on the field. I hope to be one of the best doctors and football players and I will strive to do what is necessary to get there. I can't live my dream without living in my reality first.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
