Jake Andrews '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jake Andrews, class of 2021, and I am an Offensive and Defensive Lineman. I primarily play Right Tackle and Defensive End, but due to my versatility on the line, often play wherever needed. There has not been a moment in my life where I have not loved football. Since the age of eight, I have had the privilege to continue to learn and grow in the sport. I have attended many camps throughout the years, earning awards of Coaches Choice, MVP – Offensive Lineman, and Outstanding Linebacker. I have an intense work ethic and football has only developed that drive to succeed. I have played many positions, but have discovered my greatest talents come out when playing the line. My athleticism and ability to expose others’ weaknesses in the open field contribute to being a starter both ways. My coaches have described me as a leader with an incredible understanding of the game.

My Grandpa is my biggest support and inspiration. He graduated with multiple offers and was a successful Lineman in college. I enjoy talking plays, team dynamics and watching film with him. He told me one of the best ways to prepare for the line is to wrestle in the off-season. This led me to being a two-sport athlete. Wrestling has developed not only my mental toughness, but improved my balance and strength. I was promoted, mid-season, to practice with the Varsity team during my Freshman year. I am excited for the upcoming season on the field and the mat and have been working hard in the gym six days a week with conditioning and strength training.

I am an Honor Roll student completing Advanced Placement and College Prep courses. I also applied and was accepted into a STEM program for prospective Engineers. Acceptance into the STEM program was based off classroom performance and teacher recommendations.  Continuing my education is a definite goal, and being able to play football while attending college would be a dream come true. I know I have the experience, commitment, discipline and drive to excel on the field and in the classroom. I look forward to earning your trust and the opportunity to play for a great football program while continuing my education.
