My name is Noah Wagner and I would like to introduce myself to you. I graduate in 2023 and I will be a senior this upcoming year at West Valley High School in Cottonwood California, and I love the game of football. I started playing tackle when I was in 7th grade and this will be my 6th year of organized football. My best qualities/skills are my strength and my ability to catch the ball. When I was a sophomore on JV, the varsity coach arranged a competition during a practice called the ring of fire between JV and varsity players, a strength contest where I was against another player and we try to push each other out of the ring. When the competition was completed there was just myself and the all star defensive lineman named Chris Whitney who I almost defeated and who went on to play football at College of Idaho. My varsity coach last year name Leonard Ehn who now is going to be coaching the JV this upcoming year congratulated and encouraged me. I have played Defensive Line and on Offense I played Tight End. Positions I’m most I interested in are Tight End and Defensive Line, but I’m eager to play at any position where the coach feels like he could use me. My future is to go to a 4 year college and earn a business degree. I’ve experience a major setback these last few years. When Covid hit academics and sports were greatly affected, our high school went to distance learning and our football was postponed to a spring shortened football season. In August 2021 my dad passed away, he came home sick from work with a chest cold. He tested positive for Covid and passed away during the night. My parents had been divorced and I lived with my father. I’m currently living with my grandparents; this increases my morning commute to my high school by 40 minutes. I now have daily, several long distances trips to my school and to participate in sports, but I want to graduate there. My most misunderstood quality is that I’m a quiet guy. I have had a job working at Taco Bell on the weekends for 9 months. I attend my church senior high youth group and Sunday church service every week. I also love to play the guitar as did my father and I have been taking lessons weekly for about 3 years. My nickname is Bullet and I have been called that since freshman year when I was wearing my dad’s business merchandise to school one time. My dad had a truck driving business where he would deliver cars to auto dealerships, called (Bullet Auto Transport.) now more than ever that name is important to me.
To me football is not about the game, or the touchdowns, or how many tackles and hits you made, or winning games, or how popular it makes you. To me it’s about character, giving a perfect effort, and bringing honor to your football team, and honoring my god the way I play the game, and the most important which is a team coming together as a brotherhood and playing together as a brotherhood.
