Jake Taylor '13 Recruiting Profile

 My name is Jacob Taylor (5'11" 165 lbs.). I like to go by the name Jake. I am a Junior at Rim of the World High School in Lake Arrowhead California. It is a small school with an enrollment of about 1100 students. I play football and run track in addition to my class responsibilities. This past football season (2011) I carried the ball, as a running back, 332 times for a total of 2546 yards (a new single season school rushing record) and 27 touchdowns. I was also able to catch the ball out of the backfield a number of times and scored one more touchdown as a receiver. I earned a number of awards for my accomplishments on the field. They are: 1st Team Division III All-State Team (Max Preps 1-25-12), 2nd Team All-State Small School Team (ESPN 1-16-12), 3rd Team All-State Junior Underclass Team (ESPN 1-21-12), 1st Team All-Area (Press Enterprise 12-25-11), 1st Team All-County (San Bernardino Sun 12-25-11), 1st Team All-CIF (East Valley Division, Southern Section 1-17-12), All Mountain Valley League Offensive MVP (12-11-11), Rim High School Team MVP (12-11-11). I thank my teammates for helping me achive all of these awards. Without them I would not have received any of them.
  I also run track (100m). My fastest time as a Sophomore (2010) was 11.13sec. (40 yard Time: 4.56sec.). I finished second fastest sprinter in League to a Senior by 0.10sec, which earned me an invitation to participate in CIF as a sophomore. My Junior track season is just starting. I hope to run the 100m in less than 11.00sec. this year. I also hope to be the fastest sprinter in League this year and make it further than the first round of CIF.
 I look forward to competing at the next level in one or both of these sports. I am interested in playing for a college that I can make an impact on. I do feel I can play at any division level. I don't have any problem with relocating anywhere in the Nation and I am open to all different types and levels of schools. I am just looking for a chance to prove myself and improve my education at the same time. 
 Off the field, I have logged numerous hours of community service through my participation in Boy Scouts (current rank: Life Scout) and my involvement in Church service projects. I feel that serving the members of the community that you live in is one thing that can be done by anyone to be a contributing member of that community.
