Personal Statement

Athletics is an important part of my life. I love to compete, and I am one of a handful of three-sport athletes at Redwood High School, a school with over 2,000 students where most students play one sport year-round. It's fair to describe me as athletic but I am average sized and not necessarily the fastest, or the strongest, but I am one of the most determined, and that determination has helped me become one the best athletes at Redwood. I hope to use that determination to play football at the next level. I know I can make an impact on a team and I hope someone gives me the opportunity.

I have been recognized with multiple awards by my coaches and teammates for my determination.  My Freshman year I was awarded the “Work-Horse Award”  recognizing me as the most dedicated, hardest working football player in the program.  That same year I was  awarded the “Beast-Mode Award”, a Redwood basketball team award combining offensive team MVP with work ethic and leadership. My sophomore year I won consecutive team MVP awards in both football and basketball and my Junior year I was honored with a North Coast Section Scholar Athlete Award. I was particularly proud of the Scholar Athlete Award as I spend over seven hundred hours a year with official athletic practices and games and the classes I take require an equal amount of time and effort.

My determination has emanated from the values instilled in me by my parents, but I have also learned a lot about the value of determination by watching and listening to my classmates and teammates. I have come to understand that determination is an evolving trait, one that can be improved upon, and on that can be applied to all aspects of life

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
